One of the big challenges when developing a website in Boomi Flow vs. a traditional web application is that the Boomi Flow website is hosted in the cloud vs. an internal web server that is sitting behind an organization’s firewall. To allow the Boomi Flow cloud application to communicate with these on-premise systems, such as a database, the organization would have to open firewall ports and white list IP ranges which would potentially expose their internal systems to the Internet. Many organizations are hesitant to deal with the potential security risks, especially with the numerous cyber security breaches that have happened in the past, and/or the sensitivity of their data.
